Career OpportunitySchedule: Monday – Friday 1pm-7pmPosition OverviewThe Youth Coordinator plays a critical role in providing support and resources to youth affected by violence within families. Youth Coordinators assist with curriculum initiatives, programs, and projects. This position involves coordinating and implementing programs aimed at empowering and guiding youth towards positive outcomes. Additionally, the Youth Coordinator is responsible for providing transportation services to ensure youth participation in program activities.
The Youth Coordinator is pivotal in supporting youth affected by violence and helping them navigate towards a path of healing, empowerment, and resilience. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of youth and families.

Key Responsibilities:Program Coordination:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate youth-focused programs and activities aimed at addressing the impact of violence on families.
- Collaborate with the program team to design initiatives that promote resilience, emotional well-being, and positive coping mechanisms among youth.
- Assist staff with maintain the behavior of students during facilitated group sessions, workshops, and support groups tailored to the needs of youth participants.
- Be an active daily member of the team by greeting youth and coordinating safety protocols while group sessions are taking place.
- Distributing food with a understanding of each youths diet restrictions and food limitations of all youth within the facility.
- Understand safety plans in place within the facility.
Individual Support and Case Management:
- Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and advocacy to youth navigating the challenges of violence in their families.
- Monitor progress, track outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.
- Transportation Services:
- Provide safe and reliable transportation for youth to attend program activities, appointments, and other essential engagements.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety standards.
- Coordinate transportation schedules and communicate with participants and caregivers regarding pick-up and drop-off arrangements. CDL (Class C) is preferred by not required.
Community Outreach and Collaboration:
- Create and maintain a daily transportation log.
- Collaborate with local agencies and resources to refer youth and families to additional support services as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant information, case notes, and program activities in compliance with organizational protocols.
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of participant information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Three (3) years of experience in working with youth.
- Three (3) years of experience driving a up to 10 passenger vehicle.
- Clean driving record.
- Experience working with youth who have life challenges.
- Experience in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping, or related fields preferred.
- Willingness to attend trainings on conflict resolution, problem solving, crisis management and motivational techniques.
- Familiarity with the service area is preferred.
- Applicants must be able to work independently as well as with a team of individuals.
- GED or HS diploma required.
- Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds, including those impacted by violence or trauma.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate support and guidance to youth in challenging circ*mstances.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of community resources and services for youth and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage responsibilities.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the organization and the well-being of youth and families affected by violence.
